Some seminaries, like The New Seminary and One Spirit, do not award accredited degrees. In this two-day playshop (way more fun than a workshop!), we will read and discuss poems that help us re-see the whirled, and we’ll write and (if you wish) share our own poems, engaging in the powerful practice of showing up, leaning in to the realm of pure potential and joining our small voices in the big conversation. We become narrators of our own lives-able to meet the story of the moment in fresh ways. When we meet the moment with a pen in our hands, we change our relationship to the world.

The stories you tell yourself and others create the big conversation-what are we doing here? What does it mean to be alive? But practically speaking, how do we change our perspective? How might our stories limit us? How do we re-see what we’ve seen again and again? The poets have something to teach us about perspective-how to find meaning in the moment, how to unlearn what we think we know, how to be infinitely curious, and how to enter into deeper conversations with ourselves, each other, the moment and the world. How you see the world-the way you meet even the smallest moment-affects everyone and everything in the world around you. Forgiveness in the spiritual sense is not ever a matter of condoning things that have been done and saying that they are right or justifiable.Your perspective matters. Is it possible to accept the move through those feelings and learn to forgive?Ī: During these tough times of remembrance, I think the first thing is that there is no timetable for getting over grief. Q: For many, this anniversary will surely bring up strong feelings of loss and grief. Mission: Our mission is to offer experiential interfaith and interspiritual education and professional training to support personal transformation and prepare.

As members of a human family we have to find ways of learning to understand each other and somehow reconnect with the love in our hearts, which is not easy to do. Our programs consist of a two-year interfaith/interspiritual seminary, two-year Interspiritual Counseling Program, a one-year Leadership Training Academy and a series of electives. Q: How does one find hope in remembering the horrific events of 9/11?Ī: Very often the most difficult time in our lives are a catalyst for very deep and fundamental change in how we live and how we understand the world, and even out of a tragedy like 9/11, if that can be a wakeup call for the majority of human beings to find a way to come together rather than to continue these cycles of escalating hatred and violence, then hope has been achieved.
